Why Tea For Me

My interest in herbal teas started after I was advised to cut back on caffeine. I was going through a particularly stressful time in my life and feeling quite anxious and wound up. I so loved enjoying a hot cup of coffee throughout the day, and so my quest for an alternate hot drink began.

At first, I thought green tea with all of it's touted health benefits would be great. But then I found that green tea also has caffeine.  After doing a little more online research, I decided to try a few things like chamomile and lavender. Each offered a mild and pleasant aroma and taste AND seemed to calm both my mind and my body. After that, I ventured into things like ginger - to calm my stomach and aid digestion.  I also tried various blends that contained lavender, chamomile, lemon balm, and hops to ease me into a restful sleep at night. I discovered that herbal teas offered me a variety of wonderful tastes as well as an overall general sense of well-being, and I became hooked!

My kitchen cabinet is filled with jars of teas and tea bags - every kind imaginable. I enjoy using loose leaf teas and combining different ingredients to suit my current mood. I am now able to enjoy an occasional cup of coffee, but herbal tea has become my number one beverage of choice.
