The Space to be Quiet

Hiya, friends! Hope you’re having a wonderful day today. Mine is headed off to a darned good start. I’m on the couch, feet up, with my cup of Earl Grey Oolong relishing a quiet morning of not having to rush anywhere and enjoying the blessed silence. No TV, no music, no bickering boys wrestling in the background…just silence and the delicate fragrance of my tea. I love it! Don’t get me wrong. I miss my boys like crazy when they go to their dad’s, but I definitely don’t miss the non-stop bickering!

It’s been a busy summer break for me and my boys thus far and it’s flying by so quickly! We’ve gone for a short, sweet vacation at the Great Wolf Lodge (we still love it there!), summer camps of all kinds, and all those doctor and dentist visits that are so hard to fit in during the school year. Most recently, we just got home from a whirlwind trip to tell a beloved aunt/great-aunt goodbye and that we love her one last time.

So many moments, both full of joy and sadness, packed into just 4 short weeks. I need the space of quiet moments like this morning to just be still and remember to be thankful for all of it—crazy bickering boys, hot summer days, family and friends. So I’m going to sign off now, because all too soon the crazy and busy will start again, and I want to make the most of this time to recharge. ♥️
